2014 Summer Loves

Hey everyone!

Well, it looks like Summer if finally over on my end of the globe.  It's still very warm during the day, but our mornings and nights definitely have that Fall crispness to them.  Which makes me soooooo excited!  Don't get me wrong, I do love Summer, but there is just something about Fall that makes me a happy girl.  I am really sad however that this was the last Summer of True Blood.  Let's just take a moment to say goodbye to Bill and Sookie.....................

This photo was graphically designed by my good friend Julie.  These were Michael and I's Christmas cards one year.  She beautifully put our faces on Bill and Sookie's.  Clever girl.

Moving on.........

So since Summer is coming to an end, I thought I would share with you my most loved products of this past Summer.  All products mentioned will be linked down below.

What were some of your Summer loves??

Lots of love,
Aimee Lou

July/August Favorites

Hi everyone!  So we come to the end of another month.  This year is just flying by!  I can hardly keep up.  Which is why I'm combining my July/August Favorites this month.  And I only had maybe 2 things I was loving in July.

But can you believe it's already September!!!  OMG!  Fall is just around the corner!  I can smell it.  LOL!  It's still very hot here in the South, but I'm so ready to decorate my house for Fall.  So keep your eyes open for that post ;)

On to the favorites!  As always, links to everything I've been loving is below as well as my video.  So check it out!  And let me know what ya'll have been loving.

Oh!  Before I go, just throwing this out there.  If you shop online like me, earn cash back through Ebates.  There are no strings attached.  You make an account at Ebates & start shopping.  It's that simple!  Just remember to log in before you shop or you'll miss out on your credits.  You'll get a check every 3 months I think.  So go check it out!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

I just had to share this video separately.  It's such a powerful song.  Just listen to the words.  It was one of my favorite songs for the month of August and it still is.  But like I said, I had to blog about it separately. We live in a world of makeup, filtered photos, hair extensions and all kinds of other things that improve our looks.  And that's totally fine.  For me, it's fun to play around with makeup.  Scan through all the filters for my photos.  Pop in some hair extensions to see how I would look with longer fuller hair.  But at the end of the day, when all that comes off, you're left with you.  The real you.  Do you like you?  Yes!  You do!  We are all different in our own special ways.  We are each unique and beautiful.  You don't have to "Try" so hard.  Love who you are.  Embrace you.  Be happy :))

Lots and lots of Love ya'll,

Aimee Lou

Updated Everyday Makeup Routine

It's the weekend!!  Happy Friday ya'll!  And Happy Labor Day Weekend!  I've actually had this whole past week off and it has been bliss.  I could seriously do this all the time ;))  But, I have a bad shopping habit that I need to support.  LOL!  I'm kidding!  It's really not that bad.......

Anyhoo, over the past few weeks, I realized that my day to day makeup routine has been pretty consistent.  So why not share it with you all??

Enjoy and have a safe and Happy Labor Day weekend!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

Clothing & Makeup Haul

Happy Hump Day!

I just had a particularly lovely Hump Day today.  My bestie and I treated ourselves to a well deserved and well needed massage.  Such a relaxing experience.  I haven't had one in such a long time, I forgot how good they are for you.  Seriously!  Good for not only your body, but your mind and spirit.

Another relaxing experience for me is retail therapy ;)  But it can get dangerous if I'm not careful.  So I try to keep my sessions a good length apart.  Key word being "try".

With that said, here is my latest clothing and makeup haul.

Enjoy!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

How I cover my Blemishes

Hello everyone!

Let me start this post by saying, there is no correct way to cover blemishes.  We all find our own ways to get the job done.  Another words, whatever works best for you.  Some products may work better on you than it does on others.  And vice versa.  But sometimes we like to get advice from others.  I know I do.  I'll take all those opinions and kinda create my own.  If you know what I mean.  Another words, I may like that product this person uses, but not the way they apply it.  So I come up with my own way of applying it.  "What works best for me."

So, with that said, I thought I would share with ya'll how I personally like to cover my blemishes.  I don't do this everyday.  I do have acne prone skin, but it's pretty much under control for the most part.  I do, however, occasionally get those painful under the skin cystic acne.  And they like to get red and angry looking.  When that happens, I do a few different things to my everyday makeup routine.  My technique is a little different and I like to use certain products and tools to help cover my problem area/areas.

I will say that I think the right tools are a big help.  The It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Dual Airbrush Foundation/Concealer Brush is my absolute favorite tool.  I use the larger end to blend out my under eye concealer, and the smaller end for covering up blemishes.  I get a perfect blend every time.  I just wanted to quickly mention that.  I highly recommend this brush.

I also add a few acne treating products to my regimes.  After my toner, I use Murad Acne Clearing Solution all over my face, neck and chest.  This is actually in my usual routine.  It has retinol in it as well as acne fighting ingredients.  I only use this at night cause it gets a little too harsh for my skin if I use it more.  After I apply my night time moisturizer, I spot treat with Mario Badescu Drying Mask and leave it on overnight.  In the morning my acne doesn't appear to be so angry.  LOL!  I only add one product to my morning routine.  After I use my toner, I spot treat with Mary Kay Acne Treatment Gel.  I find this isn't harsh on my skin and it effectively dries up my blemishes.  It can get over drying so just be careful with that one.  Once that's dry, I continue with my normal routine.

I'll stop here cause you'll see exactly what I'm talking about in the video below.  I hope this is helpful for anyone out there.  Maybe you can find a little piece of advice that may be helpful for you ;)

Till next time!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

Review! Mally Evercolor Face Defender

Happy Sunday ya'll!

Just wanted to do a quick review on Mally Beauty Evercolor Face Defender.

This product has a soft silicone feel to it.  It claims to give you a flawless matte finish without the dry ashy look of powder.  I 100% agree!  It took me a few tries before I really realized how great a product it is.  It really soaks up that oil leaving you looking fresh faced without removing your makeup.  I also find that it slightly diffuses the appearance of my pores and fine lines, which it also claims to do.  You'll see in my video below how well this product really works.

I use this everyday for my touchups at work.  Sometimes if I'm feeling spiffy, I will reapply my bronzer and blush with it.  But usually I don't.  It's quick and easy.  Awesome product for all us girls on the go.

If you've been on the fence about this product, I think you should give a go.  It is a bit on the pricey side ($40 @ Ulta & QVC).  But well worth it to me.  I can see this product lasting a long time.

Hope this review was helpful for you.  Don't forget to check out my video below for before and after results as well as a demo.

Have a good week ya'll!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou
