Urban Decay Naked 3

Happy Saturday everyone!!  Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far.  I certainly am.  All my shopping is done.  All the present wrapping is done.  So I'm just taking it easy today.  But I wanted to share my thoughts with ya'll on the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay.  I will link my YouTube video below if you want to see what it looks like and my first thoughts on it.  I've used it everyday this past week.  Well, except for today.  Giving my face a break today.

Here's a pic or two of the palette.

I must say I am really enjoying this one.  Naked 2 is still my favorite, but this one has it's perks.  The color theme in this one is mostly rose colored.  Which I'm actually into right now.  These shadows, just like the other 2 Naked palettes, are nicely pigmented.  There may be 2 shades that I noticed a bit of fall out, but I can look past that.  Bottom line, this is a gorgeous palette.

Let's look at the colors.

These are the first six shades.  Starting on the left we have Strange.  A matte cream color.  I love when a palette has a nice highlight shade.  Next is Dust.  A shimmery pink.  I wore this one on my lid one day.  By itself, it just gives off a shimmer on the lid, but used over another color, it really added a little something extra.  Burnout is the next shade.  So pretty on the lid. I love a pretty foiled shade.  And that's what this one is.  Limit is another matte in the bunch.  It's a nice mauve color.  Great for blending out in the crease.  Another nice foiled shade in this bunch is Buzz.  Very pretty cranberry pink, which I am loving right now.  Then there's Trick.  A nice shimmery gold with just a hint of pink in it.  You can't really tell here, but in the palette, it almost looks iridescent.

Here are the next 6 shades.

The palette starts to get darker on the end.  The first shade to the left is Nooner.  In love with this one.  I used this one the most this week.  Another matte shade too.  Also great for blending in the crease.  Next is Liar.  Another nice foiled shade.  Kind of a shimmery mauve. Very nice on the lid.  After that is Factory.  I liked using this one as an outer "V" shade.  It looks brown in the picture, but has some pink in it too.  My next favorite of the palette is Mugshot.  Soooo pretty.  Next is Darkside.  I haven't used this one yet.  But, OMG!  Gorg!  It doesn't look like much in the palette, but when I swatched it, it came across as a deep cranberry.  Loving the cranberry!  And last but not least is Blackheart.  I didn't use this one yet either.  It's like a black with some rosey shimmer to eat.  Beautiful!

So as you can probably tell, I really like this palette.  It's definitely different from the other 2.

Has anyone got this palette yet?  What do ya'll think about it?

Until next time!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

7 Days of Mascara/Day7 - it Cosmetics Hello Lashes

It's day 7!!  The last mascara and the one I bought the kit for!  it Cosmetics Hello Lashes!!!  I'm so excited about this one!  It was everything I thought it would be.  Maybe even better!

Ok.  Let's just say it.  This little wand looks a little provocative.  Right?  No?  Alright, mind out of the gutter.  LOL!  It's actually a nifty little wand.  It's rubber bristles with a rounded tip at the end.  The tip also has bristles on it.  So it makes it easy to really get in there to coat and separate your lashes.

I really like this mascara.  It reminded me a lot of Benefits They're Real.  I thought it gave me full dramatic lashes.  The formula was more drier than wet, but still kinda in between.  It was just so easy to apply!  I love it!  It is definitely my favorite out of the bunch.

So, since this was the last day of my series.  I thought I would create a look to go with it.  A fun holiday look.

I've linked the video below that shows you just how I got the look as well as how the mascara applied.  All the products used will also be listed below.  I hope ya'll enjoy it!  I had the best time with this little series!  I'm pretty sad to see it end.  But I'm sure there will be others ;)

Until next time, thank ya'll so much for tagging along with me this past week.

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

7 Days of Mascara/Day 6 - Dalton Lash Fix Tilting Mascara

Hey everyone!  We are down to only 2 mascaras.  Today's mascara is from Dalton cosmetics.  It's called Lash Fix Tilting Mascara.  I've never tried any of the Dalton products so this one was new and exciting for me.  The tilting part is really cool.  It has this knob at the end of the wand that you twist and the wand will tilt.

I thought that was pretty cool.  It made application a bit more easy.  The bristles were your standard bristles.  The formula was kinda thick and a little dry.  But first application went on nicely.  As I tell you in my video, linked below, my left eye kept clumping and separating on me.  Darn left eye!  But other than that, I really liked it.  Not my favorite out of the kit though.  But it didn't smudge on me!  So plus on that!

I thought it left a nice soft effect to my lashes.  I would use this more as an everyday type mascara.

So that's my thoughts on this mascara.  Come back tomorrow for the final one!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

7 Days of Mascara/Day 5 - tarte lights, camera, flashes

I'm back!  And ready to talk about Day 5's mascara!  Tarte's lights, camera, flashes.

I kinda talked down about this mascara in my video.  (linked below)  I've tried it before when it first came out.  It came in a kit I purchased from QVC.  No surprise there.  LOL!  And I remember not liking it that much.  It was ok and I used it up, but I wasn't impressed.  I preferred the lights, camera, lashes instead.  This one is not bad though.  It applied well and I really liked how it felt like it was combing through my lashes.  There is a mixture of long and short rubber bristles.  While the long bristles comb through, the short ones really coat the lashes giving them a volumizing effect.  Not bad at all.  I just felt the formula was a bit thick for my liking.  Overall though, I take back what I said in my video.  I really did end up liking this mascara.  And bonus!!  No smudging!!

Hope you enjoyed days 4 and 5.  Sorry I got a little behind on that.  Tomorrow I will post day 6 which I am currently wearing right now ;)

Talk to ya'll tomorrow!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

7 Days of Mascara/Day 4 - Peter Thomas Roth Lashes To Die For

Hey everyone!  Welcome back!  And Happy Friday the 13th!  It's day 4 of my 7 Days of Mascara!  Time is just flying by!  And then I'm late putting this one up.  I'll be posting day 5 a little later today.  I'm actually testing out day 6 today.  So that one will be up tomorrow.

But right now we're going to talk about Lashes To Die For.

The brush is really cool.  It's rubber bristles.  But it's flat.  The bristles flare out on each side.  And when you turn it to where the bristles are up instead of on the side, those sides are flat.  Here are a few pics so you can see what I'm rambling about.  LOL!

Cool right?!  I thought so!

After wearing and observing this one, I did realize that it definitely doesn't give you Lashes To Die For.  Well, not me anyway.  I did like it though.  It takes a lot for me not to like a mascara.  I just love mascara in general.  But I didn't feel like this one wowed me all that much.  No smudging!!  So that's a real good thing in my book.  I will probably use this one as more of an everyday mascara.

Check out my video below to see my application of it.

If you are interested in the Lashtastic kit, check it out here.

I will be back a little later with Day 5!

7 Days of Mascara/Day3 - Laura Geller

Hello everyone!  It is day 3 of my mascara series!  I am really excited about this one!  It is by Laura Geller.  It's her Glam Lash Dramatic Volumizing Mascara.  And OMG!  It's freakin' amazing!  I 100% loved it!

It's a skinny bristled wand.  The bristles are normal bristles.  And the formula is just right.  Not too wet, but not really dry.  Almost just like the Mally mascara, but better.  Unlike the Mally, this one did not smudge on me at all.  Which I'm pretty excited about!  I can't say enough good things about this mascara.  Laura Geller has really got a good one here.  I thought it applied nicely too.  No clumping!  Woop Woop!!  LOL!  It definitely gave me some volume and length.  I can see myself purchasing this one again.  Good job Laura Geller!

Hope ya'll enjoyed this post.  I was excited to share this mascara.  So far I think this is my favorite.  But there are still 4 more to go!  So we'll see.

Check out my video below to see how I applied it.

I'll be back tomorrow with yet another mascara post!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

7 Days of Mascara/Day 2 - Mally Volumizing Mascara

Hey everyone!  Again, I am late posting this.  My vacation days are just flying by.  I did get a lot done today though, which is why I'm late posting this.  Again :/

But, today's post will be about Mally Volumizing Mascara.

The brush is a pretty normal bristle brush.  It is a little bit fuller than a normal brush.  Which I like.  The formula is perfect in my opinion.  Not too wet.  Not too dry.  This is perfect for my lashes.  One coat did not seem to do too much though.  It definitely added a little fullness to my lashes, but two coats gave them a more dramatic effect.  I think 3 coats would even make your lashes even fuller.  I think this mascara would be an ideal everyday mascara.  But........putting it on my bottom lashes, it did smudge :(  Like I said before though, this is not a big problem for me.  I like using either a waterproof of Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara on my bottom lashes.  Just cause I know for sure they will not smudge.

Here's some creepy eyeball pics with this mascara (lol)....

So, overall, I did like it.  I may even purchase a full size of this ;)  Check out my video below to see just how I applied it.  And a little sob story at the end.  tehe!

Hope ya'll enjoyed this post!  Come back to see what mascara I try tomorrow!

Lot of Love,
Aimee Lou

7 Days of Mascara/Day 1 - Bare Mineral Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara

Hey everyone!  I'm a little late in the day posting this, but I hope ya'll had a great start of the week.  My Monday didn't go as planned, but that's ok.  Mascara makes everything better.  Don't you think?......no......  Well, it makes me smile.  That's for sure.

I absolutely love mascara!  I don't know why I have such a fetish with it.  I do not have the greatest lashes.  They're short and like to stick straight out.  As well as bundle up with each other.  LOL!  So I really have no idea what fascinates me about mascara.  The only thing I can come up with is that, mascara has the power of making my short, staight, crazy lashes look decent.  So when I saw this kit called Lashtastic on QVC a while back, I just couldn't help myself.

Isn't she beautiful!

Instead of trying all these mascaras out by myself, I thought I'd share them with ya'll.  So I came up with this little series called "7 Days of Mascara".  Corny, I know.  But we all need a little corny in our lives right!  (totally got that line from 'The Holiday'.  Love that movie.)

Anyhoo, so today is day 1.  And I chose Bare Minerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara to try out first.  I actually cheated a little on this one and tried it out over this past weekend for my work Christmas party.  I couldn't help myself.  I had ordered TSV on QVC a week ago, which happen to be Bare Minerals, which happen to have this same mascara in it the kit.  But, I did not wear it on my bottom lashes just to be on the safe side.  Didn't want to look like a raccoon for the party.  This is what the mascara looks like.

The small silver tube is the one you actually get in the kit.

The wand is a rubberized wand and the bristles swirl around it.  I wasn't really sure how to apply this, so I kinda rolled it along my lashes.  I'll have the video below so you can check that out.  But I'm sure you can apply it like you normally would.  I was just playing with the bristles.

I did find that that it gave me volume as well as length.  Which it doesn't claim to do.  The formula was a little on the dry side for me.  I find a drier formula makes my difficult lashes, even more difficult.  So I did have to come through them after applying my desired coats.  As for as on my bottom lashes, it did smudge on me.  So I won't be putting this on my bottom lashes anymore.  But that's just me.  If you are not a smudger, it'll work perfectly fine.  Here's a few pics with the mascara on.

See.  I don't have the best lashes, but I did like this mascara.  I will be using it again.  Just not on my bottom lashes.  Sorry for the creepy eye pics by the way.  It was late at night when I remembered having some pics might be useful for my blog.  LOL!

I hope you liked this post and it gave you some insight on this particular mascara.  If you are interested in this kit from QVC, you can check it out here.

Tune in tomorrow to see what mascara I try out next!

See ya'll then!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

Kat Von D lock-it tatoo foundation 24 hr wear

Hey everyone!  Long time no blog.  LOL!  Sorry I haven't been around much lately.  It's been busy here.  At home and at work.  But enough of excuses.  That's not what this blog is about. It's about Kat Von D's lock-it tattoo foundation.  Let me just say that I think she is a beautiful woman.  I used to watch her tattoo show all the time.  Love her!

 I'm in shade Light 48

So let's get down to the nitty gritty.  I have not tried all her products yet, but I am loving what I have tried so far.  Above is a pic of her lock-it foundation.  My first impression was that I immediately loved it.  (video at the bottom of this blog)  It covered every flaw, whether it was a blemish or hyper-pigmentation.  Here's a look at the before and after......

My complexion was actually pretty good on this day, but you can still see how it just evened everything out.  And I matched myself perfect!  I'm pretty excited about that cause I normally have a hard time matching my skin tone.  I'm light with a medium/neutral undertone.  So it can be tricky.  But go me!  LOL!  Or maybe I should give the credit to the variety of shades in this foundation.  There are 19 shades.  You can check them out here

As my day went on, I was even more impressed.  I have EXTREMELY oily skin.  I'm talking to the point of my face looking wet.  LOL!  Pretty gross right.  Ok, maybe that was a bit extreme, but I am really oily.  Everywhere.  No combination here.  You get the picture.  But by midday, I could hardly tell if I needed to touch up just by looking at myself in the mirror.  I was still oily and could use a touch-up, but I didn't for the sake of wanting to see how far I could go, if needed, without touching up.  So this was midday......

You can see that I may be a little oily on my cheeks, but overall not bad at all.  Here's a pic right before I took it off.......

Here you can see some more oil on my forehead, but again, not bad.  It was pretty late too when I finally took it off.  Hence the baggies under my eyes.  LOL!  It does claim to wear for 24 hrs, which I don't think I will ever be wearing it that long, but it definitely last over 8 hours.  It never broke down.  Which is huge for me.  Having such oily skin, some foundations will break down by midday on me.

So my first day using this foundation was a success.  I was and still am in love with this foundation.  It reminds me a lot of Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation.  One of my other loves.

It's been a few weeks since I first wore this foundation.  So I've been experimenting on ways to apply it, as well as how it performed on a recent trip I took for work.  I tried applying it with my Makeup Geek Stippling Brush.  I love this brush.  But I didn't like the finish when using it to apply this foundation.  I forgot to mention that this foundation can be a bit thick.  It doesn't feel thick on the skin though.  But can be tricky spreading it out.  I even tried my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.  That didn't work well at all.  It left it very streaky.  I had to use my Beauty Blender to smooth it out.  Which is my favorite way to apply this foundation.  The Beauty Blender to me works the best.

Now just last week I had some classes to take in New Orleans for work.  I was there for 4 days.  My days were so filled with classes and activities that I did not have time to touch up.  But by the end of the day, I was just so impressed with how good this foundation performed on my skin.  I used it everyday.  It did not break me out.  Big plus.  It didn't break down.  Nor did I look greasy throughout my day.  So overall, a big A+ for Kat Von D lock-it tattoo foundation!!!

I hope this helped if any of you were curious or thinking about buying this foundation.  I highly recommend it.  Especially for all you oily ladies like myself out there ;)  I think it will work on combination skin as well.  If you are more dry, I can see where this foundation might stick to dry spots.

Has anyone tried this foundation?  How did you like it?

Check out my first impression video below to see how I applied it and what I thought on first application.  Oh!  In the video I used 2 pumps.  After playing with this foundation for a while, 1 pump works just as good if not better.

Till next time!

Lots of love,
Aimee Lou
