Ulta & Sephora Haul + What I got for Valentine's!

Happy Sunday ya'll!

So I meant to post this video during this past week, but my week seemed to get away from me somehow.  Last weekend I picked up a few things from Ulta & Sephora.  And my Love brought me to Lush for a few little extras for Valentine's Day.  We don't really go all out for Valentine's.  We usually save our big gifts for Birthdays and Christmas.  Which my birthday month will be upon us soon ;))

But anyway, I thought I would share with you what all I got.  Enjoy!  And have a great week!

I'll talk to ya'll soon!

Lots of love,
Aimee Lou

Quick Fashion Haul

Hey everyone!  Happy Sunday evening!  Hope ya'll had an awesome weekend so far.  This was the first weekend in a long time that I've actually felt like my old self.  Think I may finally be kicking this cold to the curb.  And it's been a beautiful day out today.  I got out earlier for a Whole Foods run and the weather was so nice.

So any hoot owls, this past Friday after work I decided to head to the mall.  I work right around the corner from it.....dangerous.  But I realized during all this cold weather that we've been having, that I didn't have any sweaters.  Like warm and cozy sweaters.  That's mainly why I went.  I wanted to see if any good sales were going on.

Needless to say, I ended up with a few things.  Check out my video below to see what I got!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

Let's Talk! Snow days, New Years resolutions & germs.....

Hey everyone!  Happy Saturday!  Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.  I'm spending my day today visiting my parents, filming & blogging.  I'm actually a week late posting this.  I wanted to post it last weekend, but my cold has just started to settle down.  I've been trying to rest as much as possible to get better.  I'm going on 2 weeks with this crud.  Ugh!  So I do sound a lot better.  Still stuffy, but better.

Anywho, I wasn't going to post this because it's been a week since I filmed the video, but I figured why the heck not.

Enough blabber!  On with my topic!

About 2 weeks ago, we were shut down by extremely cold weather with sleet.  Here in Louisiana, that doesn't come very often.  For 2 days we were instructed to stay off the roads.  We are just not prepared for that type of weather here, so of course panic mode comes in.  LOL!  The Monday before the freeze I went to my local Fresh Market for a few of my normal essentials.  It was packed with people stocking up on whatever they could get their hands on.  One lady had her buggy half stock with wine.  She clearly said, "I'm gonna be stuck inside for 2 days!  I have to have something to do!"  LOL!  That made me giggle.

Well, I don't know if you would call our snow days "snow days".  It was more like "sleet days".

My schefflera plant bit the dust.  She'll come back though.  I lost her once before.  She'll take some TLC this spring.

My poor landscaping.  Most of my plants froze.  Like I said, lots of TLC this spring.

Along with our cold days, I acquired my second head cold of the month.  And this one doesn't seem to want to go away.

Besides all that, I've been doing very well with my New Years resolutions.  Except for the past 2 weeks.  My doctor ordered lots of rest and no exercising.  I'm done with that.  It's back to Jazzercise for me on Monday.  One of my resolutions was to attend Jazzercise 3 times a week.  I've been doing really well with that.  To give me more motivation, I went shopping for new work out attire.  Old Navy has a good selection at a great price.  My next resolution was to put down the phone and read.  I've always loved to read.  I have a pretty nice selection of books.  But the last year, I haven't been reading much.  My time consists of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & Candy Crush.  Curse you Candy Crush!  LOL!  So I've got back into reading before bed time.  I've also been reading on my lunch at work.  It's so calming to read.  It takes my mind off of anything that may be on it and focuses on the story.  I'm currently reading City of Glass from the Immortal Instruments series.  As well as listening to Hidden from the House of Nights series.  Love me some audiobooks.  Makes my drive to work a lot easier to deal with.  And lastly, I've been wanting to redecorate my house for a few years now.  But never set my mind to it.  This year it's getting done.

I think that about covers it.  That's basically what I've been up to this last month of January.  I'll link to some of my work out attire below if anyone is interested.  As well as the books I'm reading.

Have a great weekend everyone!  Talk to ya'll soon!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou

Review on Tarte's Colored Clay Foundcealer

Happy Sunday everyone!  It's a gloomy rainy day over here.  So I thought it would be a perfect day for a review!  I've been wearing this foundation for almost 2 weeks now, and let's not beat around the bush.  I LOVE IT!!  It's Tarte's Colored Clay Foundcealer.

It claims to be a foundation and concealer in one.  I have mixed feelings about this claim.  When I first used this product, video is below, I had 3 blemishes popping up that it did not fully cover.  I did have to use my MAC Studio Finish concealer to conceal them.  But as for my hyper pigmentation and old acne scars, it did cover up nicely.  My skin has been pretty clear lately.  *knocking on wood*  So I haven't bothered using my concealer.  It's been a nice quick application in my morning routine.  And that's been really nice.  So I guess what I'm saying is that if you do have some stand out blemishes, from my experience with this product, it's not gonna cover them up completely.  Other than that, I do feel you can get away with not using concealer.  I forgot to take a before pic, but here's a pic of my after.

As my day went on.  I touched up once as per usual.  I'm really oily so there is no getting past touch ups for me.  But I have to say, unlike Tarte's Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation, it did not seep into my fine lines.  Big plus!  It seemed to stay nicely put all day.  And the more I wear it, the more I love it!  I am not too crazy about the brush that comes with it though.  I found that it soaked up a lot of the foundation.  So I've been using my trusty Make Up Geek stippling brush.  Love that brush.  I hear she has a new and improved one.  I might have to get my hands on that one.  hhhhmmmmm............  Ok.  Back to the subject at hand.  Here's a pic of later in the evening after my one touch up.  Sorry about the bad lighting.  It was pretty late.

I don't know if you can tell, but it was still smooth and in place.  I absolutely love it!  It's not available yet in your local Ulta's or Sephora's or even on Tarte's website.  But not to worry!  QVC has you covered!  You can get it here.  I forgot to mention that is also has SPF 15.  Always a good thing.

Hope you enjoyed my review and it was helpful to you if you were thinking about checking out this new product from Tarte.  If you do pick it up, let me know in the comments below how you like it.  And check out my video below for my first impression.

Have a great Sunday!

Lots of Love,
Aimee Lou
